Medical Collaboration
Traditional and Integrative Medical Collaboration
“Whatever happens in the mind of man is always reflected in the diseases of his body.” René Dubos
Dr. Maria Michael does not claim to be a physician nor have formal medical training. She has successfully collaborated with Western allopathic physicians, integrative functional medical practitioners, psychiatrists, mental health care practitioners, and acupuncturists to provide effective and efficient treatment methodologies. As you know, medicine is as much an art as it is a science. Healing happens when the body, mind, spirit and heart are in harmony. This concept pre-dated Hippocrates, and research in this area has exploded in the last 35 years.
“According to the mind–body or bio-psychosocial paradigm, which supersedes the older biomedical model, there is no real division between mind and body because of networks of communication that exist between the brain and neurological, endocrine and immune systems.”
Dr. Michael assists physicians and clients who:
- Are not healing, despite all the physician’s best efforts.
- Present complex symptoms that make it difficult to know where to start.
- Are unaware of underlying emotional, mental and spiritual factors that may be undermining their physical wellness.
Dr. Michael also has:
- Consulted for and with clients at Memorial Sloan Kettering, Harvard’s Mass General, Johns Hopkins, MD Anderson, Block Center Integrative Cancer Treatment.
- Past privileges at Boulder Community Hospital for hands-on work in helping Emergency Room for pre and post-operative clients.
